There is no reason to
expect the current surge in Salem's
economy to slow. New restoration projects slated to start in the near future
include the renovation of the Salem Jail into a mixed-use project, the $160
million renovation and expansion of the courts system, and the expansion of
the commuter rail station parking garage. In addition to these projects, RCG's
redevelopment and construction of the Former Salem News block is underway.
This project will deliver exciting new residential apartments and retail storefronts
to the heart of Downtown Salem. RCG is also in the midst of redeveloping the
90 Lafayette Street Building into new second floor Lofts and ground level
retail space.
These new downtown projects will add to the already vibrant and rapidly expanding Salem Center, anchoring it with well designed spaces where people can live, work, and play.
